The Healing Land - Jarbi Area

This area has always been known as the “Healing City” since it cured people who endured Rheumatic diseases with its sand.

As summer begins, you can smell the enthralling scent of one of the most astonishing cities in Damietta, Ras El Bar. The city reminds all Egyptians of summer vacation, especially Al Jarbi area which is located south of Ras El Bar and is currently the main entrance of the city.

The area was named after Sheikh Al Jarbi, one of the sheiks of the Sufi orders. It became famous for its sand therapy. It is where people canoe, fish, and swim in the Nile River.

The Jarbi area is a nostalgic place for me as every time someone mentions this place,

I remember the story of how my parents met. While my mother and her family were spending

the summer vacation, my father was also there because my grandmother was suffering from a Rheumatic disease. People told my father that the best cure for this disease is the sand of

Al Jarbi area because it contains Thorium.

After my grandmother's recovery, they decided to spend the morning on El Plage beach.

The moment they arrived, my father stood by the seashore just gazing at my mother. The perfect weather and the stunning view ignited a spark of romance.

Damietta is one of the most charming governorates, as it provides all your basic needs. Besides Damietta itself, the city of Ras El Bar is different in many beautiful ways. The place is magical, especially during the summer.
